Prof. RNDr. Jan Ženka, Ph.D. and Mgr. Luděk Krtička, Ph.D. from University of Ostrava, Czech Republic
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the Regional Planning Science Study Program, Department of Soil Science and Land Resources, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University, hosted a guest lecture featuring two visiting professors from the Department of Human Geography and Regional Development, Faculty of Science, University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. The guest speakers were Prof. RNDr. Jan Ženka, Ph.D. (Economic Geography) and Mgr. Luděk Krtička, Ph.D. (GIS and Remote Sensing).
During the session, Prof. Jan delivered a lecture titled “Regional Economic Resilience and the Foundational Economy: A Case Study of Czech Regions,” while Dr. Luděk presented on “The New Digital Technical Map of the Czech Republic.”
This academic visit is part of an annual program supported by Erasmus+ funding, initiated after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IPB University and the University of Ostrava in 2018. The collaboration includes not only inbound visits, but also outbound staff mobility, with lecturers from the Regional Planning Science Study Program regularly invited to teach at the University of Ostrava.
