Profile:
This division focuses on the analysis, planning and development of land resources, spatial arrangements for development goals with following characteristics: productive, sustainable and justice oriented.
Mandate:
Developing science and technologies in inventory, systems, analyses and the provision of regional-wide information, developing spatial models and developing strategies, policies and planning for: (1) land utilization; (2) spatial arrangements; (3) agrarian and (4) regional development.
Domains:
Utilizations and development of science and technologies related to inventory, characterization, valuation, evaluation, systems, system analytics, modeling and spatial quantitative techniques for regional development planning and constructing strategies, policies and planning in (1) land utilization, (2) spatial arrangements, (3) agrarian, (4) regional development.
Implementation covers: (1) exploration of philosophy, concepts, models, and methods in constructing strategies, policies and planning for (a) land utilization, (b) spatial arrangements, (c) agrarian, (d) regional development; (2) inventory, characterization, valuation, evaluation, typology, resource transformation and flows, input-output analysis, added values, impacts and control; (3) multidimensional systems for biophysical, ecological and socio-economics issues, especially in the analysis of patterns, variations, the dynamics, hierarchy and interactions; (4) systematics in database, information, quantitative techniques, models and indicators for: (a) land utilization, (b) spatial arrangements, (c) agrarian, (d) regional development, and the development of artificial intelligence systems; (5) the use and development of modeling techniques and quantitative analysis of variations, dynamics, hierarchy and spatial interactions of resources
